Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Analyst works with various departments within Southern States to drive process improvement by resolving parts and procedural issues related to the Procurement Department. This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of all commodities and procedures and is organized and self-motivated. They balance both department and company objectives to prioritize and tackle a wide variety of projects as needed to support and improve long-term supply chain viability across all divisions.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Analyst works with various departments within Southern States to drive process improvement by resolving parts and procedural issues related to the Procurement Department. This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of all commodities and procedures and is organized and self-motivated. They balance both department and company objectives to prioritize and tackle a wide variety of projects as needed to support and improve long-term supply chain viability across all divisions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Resolve, perform root cause analyses, and develop systems to reduce repeat occurrences of the following, including but not limited to:
- NCRs and Scrap
- Parts shortages
- Invoice discrepancies
- Coordinate with engineers across all divisions to source, evaluate, and approve alternate parts/materials
- Procurement point person for the following:
- New products and/or product changes
- First Articles
- Part Categorization
- Part and product cost evaluations/analyses.
- Create forecasting models to determine future supply needs.
- Conducts SQL data queries and works with and optimizes ERP systems to improve department performance.
- Work with Mfg. Engineering, IT, and other departments to analyze and develop reports and performance metrics.
- Assist with departmental projects including forecasting, purchasing, expediting commodities, and/or departmental training/supervision.
- Assist Procurement Manager as needed.
- Performs any other tasks or duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 5+ years’ prior buying, purchasing, or related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Understanding of applicable computer systems and function-specific software such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external customers.
- Good work record, including attendance.
- Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing.
- Strong background in blueprint reading and interpretation.
- APICS or CPM certification.
- Experience in SQL
- Project management experience.
