Job Summary:

The EHS Specialist I will deliver clear and concise training on all regulatory mandated topics as well as site and department specific topics, support EHS manager to maintain compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations.


Essential Responsibilities:

 
  • Plan and ensure delivery of training programs for regulatory mandated requirements, as well as site specific EH&S training.
  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
  • Audit the effectiveness, quality, and presenter delivery of all required safety training, as well as employee retention of information.
  • Assist EHS manager to ensure EH&S policies and procedures are being applied and followed.
  • Maintain employee training matrices.
  • Compile and publish reports as required.
  • Assist EHS manager with supporting site management/operational staff on all EH&S activities, communicating initiatives, and establishing/updating and disseminating documentation relating to the EH&S.
  • Support initiatives, focusing on preventive actions, that identify and communicate facility risk exposure, prioritizing risk reduction needs and ensuring closure of recommendations to reduce risk.
  • Assist with investigation of safety related accidents or incidents (including near misses) to identify roots cause(s) and implementation of effective corrective/preventive actions.
  • Supports compliance to local, state, and federal EH&S regulations.
  • Assist EHS manager with routine audits that are conducted of facilities and processed to assess and identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Assis EHS manage with regular risk assessments that are conducted on all processes and equipment and recommend appropriate controls when hazards or potential hazards and identified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Associate degree in business, HR, EHS, science, engineering, or other related discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • 2+ years of proven related experience or supplemental education
  • Must be able t research and understand information to deliver quality trainings and have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
