The Electrical Engineer I will have expertise in embedded systems design and development and worked on embedded systems teams. This person will apply these designs to related electric power substation, transmission and distribution systems.
Essential Responsibility:
The list below is the minimum responsibility expected from the applicant, however other responsibilities may will be assigned as necessary by other managers. This position may require travel, however the travel time is limited to no more than 5% of the time.
Participate in the research, selection, design, development and modification of digital and analog hardware, systems, and electrical components
Build embedded systems including hardware, basic board test firmware
Responsible for the development of embedded systems hardware, from prototypes to certification testing and production
Coordinate with team members to establish basic design approaches
Analyze and assist in developing approaches to meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and other requirements for new or improved products
Create CAD schematics, PCB layouts, and detailed documentation for new products
Conduct testing of existing and prototype product designs to diagnose malfunctions and make routine improvements or modifications to produce desired results
Interface with outside resources such as PCB prototype houses and contract manufacturers.
Help keep specification up to date, and maintain a relationship with customer and provide sales with most accurate options.
Ability to understand and adhere / compliance to various customer specifications and requirements.
Technical capability to transfer written documents into electrical schematics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field
At least 2 years of embedded hardware development, or Master’s degree
Experience with PCB and hardware interface design of embedded MCU or SOM
Working knowledge of test tools; oscilloscopes, DMM, lab-type power supplies, serial port communications, and data analysis
Troubleshooting experience such as board bring-up, EMI/EMC, or environmental issues
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Self-motivated and passionate about embedded systems
