The General Manager oversees the Power Switching Division (PSD) and has full P&L responsibility. You will lead a cross-functional team responsible for all strategic and operational plans for the division encompassing marketing (product and communications), new product development, sales, order engineering, and manufacturing. As the leader of PSD, you will build a customer-focused culture while leading the development and execution of initiatives to drive revenue growth and profitability.
Essential Functions:
Drive revenue growth and profitability by developing and implementing strategies for improvements in manufacturing and new product development.
Lead the division in developing and executing the strategic plan for the division including plans for expansion of the business.
Champion manufacturing excellence, focusing on safety, product quality, on-time delivery, and efficiency.
Leads cost reduction effort focused on sourcing, lean manufacturing, and value engineering.
Leads the development and maintenance of strategic alliances and partnerships with internal and external organizations (vendors and customers) to support growth of the division.
Build organizational capability and morale within the division by developing both internal talent and attracting external talent to the organization to drive the desired customer-focused culture.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business or related field.
Ten (10) years of experience in a high-mix manufacturing organization in roles of increasing responsibility.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, supply chain, and product management.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost optimization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and customer/partner negotiations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a Power Systems emphasis
Master of Business Administration
Previous experience as a Product Line Manager in power systems products / solutions for utility or industrial markets
