Application Engineer- Electrical

Distribution Automation Division - Hampton, GA - Full Time

Job Summary:

The Application Engineer will work on the DAD engineering team to perform: Automation controller (relay) programming design and configuration, Customer support, Electric Grid Automation system configuration/installation/support, production support, engineering support to the team, and training.  Training will be provided to selected candidate on how to perform these duties.

 

Essential Responsibilities:
 
  • Relay configuration and logic programming
  • Maintain, enhance, and support the production test platform
  • Electric Grid Automation system configuration, installation, and support
  • Support the production floor on any troubleshooting and resolving issues encountered
  • Customer support
  • Training; both internal employees and customers
  • Provide engineering support for all members of the division.
  • Some travel required is not expected to exceed 25%

Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Education: BS in Electric Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Experience: 0-5 years of experience. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively
  • Comfortable with speaking in front of and training groups of people
  • Ability to travel within the US
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Power Systems focus
  • Experience: 5-10 years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of SCADA preferred
  • Knowledge of Reclosers preferred
  • Outgoing personality to serve on the front line of customer experience
  • Previous knowledge of distribution power grid preferred
  • Previous knowledge of SEL relays preferred
